Our students had similar trouble last year as you had in this project. Any time there is a recording task you have to make sure no other students interrupt the activity. I tried to make it seem like it was an official event by telling them to pretent they were on a Hollywood set. I would yell out, "Action on the set!" and that was their clue to be quiet :) It is challenging though.
